Add your number here to start receiving Neya updates on Whatsapp and contributing to the Oxford High School community.
Once you’ve added Neya you can use it by:
Reading our Neya Bulletin. Every Thursday morning we’ll send a link with things to do, ways to help other Oxford High families and updates on what’s happening in the community.
Suggesting things. Life’s for sharing. If you’re doing something locally and you think others would enjoy, tell Neya and you might find new and old friends along with you.
Asking Neya. Send any questions about what’s on locally, help you need, recommendations you want, items you need to borrow, or other things you think the local community can help you with.
How to get involved:
Enter your number here.
We’ll send out the latest newsletter to you directly from Neya’s WhatsApp account.
You can reply if you want to join anything, or suggest anything
Neya will then send you a message every Thursday with updates from the community and ideas of things to do over the forthcoming week.
At this trial phase it’s a mix of our team and some clever technology, but in time the technology will do more and the help you get will be quicker and better.
Why are we doing it?
Neya is a new idea being developed by three friends, including Rob Chapman an OHS dad.
Our aim is to make a tool that can make communities everywhere more cohesive, helpful and vibrant. We know that parenting is more joyful when done with other families and we all need lots of help as we bring up our children. Existing Whatsapp Groups are great at solving many issues but they only have one mode - broadcast to everyone!
We wanted something more like a super neighbour: something which can find moments for us to connect, knows lots of local information and is can maximise the opportunities for us to do more together.
Life is for sharing. Neya aims to help you spend more time with other people in your local area and feel the joy of being part of a lively community.
This is our earliest test to see if people like it, so we’d love your feedback, both positive and negative. You can simply message Neya with your thoughts (we read every message), email us at hello@joinneya.com, or catch Rob at the school gate.
Who’s behind Neya?
Rob Chapman is an OHS Dad and has spent his career thinking about how we can apply technology to the world’s problems. He’s very excited about how technology can help increase our sense of belonging in our local community - one of the things that gives great meaning to our lives.
Harry Hobson has devoted his career to research and innovation that makes Britain more socially connected. Amongst other projects, he is founding director at Neighbourly Lab and runs the UK Government’s Tackling Loneliness Hub.
Robbie Howshall has spent the last fifteen years building brilliant digital products for education and financial inclusion. He loves trying to make technology solve real problems by being invisible but magical.
